Our story
We started Sonnata after spending years watching the same problem repeat across hospital after hospital: patient self-pay balances kept rising, traditional collections workflows kept eroding the patient relationship, and revenue cycle teams kept getting blamed for both.
The tools the industry had — dialers, statement vendors, third-party agencies — were built for a different era of healthcare, when patients owed less and the playbook was volume. Today, with high-deductible plans and rising out-of-pocket costs, the median patient isn't refusing to pay. They're confused, anxious, or waiting on an EOB. They need a guide, not a pressure campaign.
Sonnata is that guide. A multi-agent platform that meets patients where they are — by text, by phone, in their portal — explains the balance in plain language, surfaces the right next step (a plan, charity screening, a coverage review), and routes the rest to your team with full context.
